August 1988 to February 1990
Whitesnake
People involved
Tommy Aldridge (drm); David Coverdale (vcl); Glenn Hughes (bvc); Rudy Sarzo (bss); Steve Vai (gtr); plus the Dellberts from Hell Chorus (bvc).
Recordings started during January 1989. Having heard of Campbell's empty slot, Steve Vai (discretely) volunteered to replace him. Due to some injury, Vandenberg was unable to perform during the recording sessions. Kevin Russell (gtr) was called in to replace him temporarily (though he does not appear on the finished product). During April 1989, Hughes contributed some (hardly audible) backing vocals.
